Wet and Wild ...

Last Saturday we spent the afternoon and evening with Dwight’s extended family … “The Hodges” ... it was an afternoon of Wet and Wild Fun! They live just outside of Fort Collins and have a small private lake on their property. It is a fabulous set up with a sand beach, dock, Jet Ski’s and water toys … everyone had plenty of fun for the day.

Tooth Fairy ....

Justin finally lost his 1st tooth … just not the traditional way. His visit to the dentist yesterday ended with his 1st pulled tooth. He had baby tooth with a cavity down to the nerve which needed a root canal and a crown. Dwight opted for the pull and the hole in the mouth. Justin was super brave!! Thank goodness Dwight took him to the dentist and I just got the joys of sharing Justin’s excitement that the tooth fairy was finally going to come for a visit. His bottom front 2 teeth are loose … one is very loose so I anticipate the tooth fairy will be back to visit again soon.

It's Official ...

Not sure what makes me sadder. The fact that summer is officially over or that my little man is officially a “Big 1st Grader”. Yesterday was the 1st day of school. Dwight had a late work start so we were both able to take him to school. I am so happy that neither one of us have yet to miss these special events. Justin was so excited for school he was up and dressed in his “new” school clothes (that he picked out himself) by 7:00 am. It was a long hour and a half of “is it time yet” before we had to leave the house. Needless to say we had plenty of time to get everything organized and take a few pictures.

Justin’s was so excited that his teacher this year is Mrs. Burke his reading teacher from last year and to make the day even better his best school buddy Elijah is in his class!

Justin was tired when we picked him up at 3:20 pm. Last year his school was only a few hours … this was his 1st full day of school and his 1st time eating school lunch. But from the words of a 1st grader … Justin was quick to tell us “the best part of being a 1st grader is there are 2 recesses!!”

Cousins in Kansas ...

Here is just a sample of the photos that we took in Kansas. Justin and Makenna had so much fun playing with their cousins for 4 days straight. I’m just so happy that we can create these wonderful family memories for all of us. I just wish we lived closer to each other … our kids have a BLAST together and truly share a very special bond! $5.00 Gem ….

My most amazing www.craigslist.com find yet!! The kids love to play school but never have the right set up. I have always admired old school desks but the price is never right until I found this gem posted on craigslist yesterday for ONLY $5.00. OMG I was in my car as soon as she said come get it! A little TLC and we will be in business. Now the argument will be WHO gets to use the desk. Don’t imagine I’ll get lucky 2x and find another one. Quote from Justin … “all this for $5.00 … my Star Wars guy is little and it was $10.00” :)
