Little Miss Sunshine ...

Over the past few weeks we have had so much rain that “rain boots” have become a necessity around our house. Finally about a week ago we had a day full of blue skies and sunshine. I helped Makenna get her polka dotted swimsuit on ... she decided to add a few accessories.

Little Slugger ...

Tonight Justin played his best baseball game ever!! He was amazing. His batting was unbelievable. He was so focused and hit the ball all 3 times he was up to bat. He even smacked it way out into the outfield … over everyone’s heads. He was so proud of himself … mom and dad were prouder! He is really starting to understand the game. I love watching him grow into a great team player and excel as a little slugger.

Unmanageable…

I love Makenna’s long hair but it was getting out of control. The tangles became unmanageable so I finally broke down and had her hair cut. She has had one very MINOR trim about a year ago but this was her 1st real haircut. We ended up cutting about 3+ inches off. I wanted to have them cut long layers into it but the lady at “Great Clips” didn’t really have the patience for a wiggly 2 year old.

What the hail?!?!

We just had 2 back to back massive hail storms roll through Northern Colorado. The roads look like it snowed … the garden, flowers and trees are mangled. According to the weather reports it doesn’t appear like it is over. I’m thinking it might be a long and wet afternoon.

Play Ball ...

Justin had his very 1st baseball game last night. I must say I was pretty impressed for a 1st time ball player. It was only 3 weeks ago when we went to buy him a mitt. Justin would not be happy if he knew I was sharing this story but I thought it was cute.
I took Justin to the sports store to pick out a baseball glove. We walked into the baseball section and Justin looks at me and says ….

Justin - “Why do I have to be the catcher”?
Me – “What makes you think you have to be the catcher”?
Justin – “Cause you’re making me get one of these” … holding up a mitt
Me – “Everyone on the field uses a mitt how are you going to catch the ball without a mitt”?
Justin - “I’m just going to hit the ball not catch it
At that point I wasn’t too sure what we had gotten ourselves into

Since Dwight and I are not huge baseball fans Justin has never really had the exposure to the game. It didn’t take much to get Justin excited about playing baseball. As soon as we picked up the mandatory $50 uniform and attended his 1st practice … Justin was hooked. We have since added to our baseball equipment … new bat, new batting T and a bucket full of balls. Watching him play his first game made me wonder what the future will bring. If his enthusiasm and dedication to practicing continues we might be spending a lot more summer nights at the ball park. If they are anything like his 1st game you won’t hear me complaining.

Time 4 a Change ...

This warm weather and my anticipated summer packed with fun made me decide it was time for a change. I got my hair cut SHORT! Lately I’ve just been getting a trim but not this time … I got my $40 worth!

It’s been a few days and I’m still not completely in love with the cut … but don’t dislike it either. I’ve been with a new stylist for the past 6 months and I’m not sure if it is my hair, my stylist or my lack of styling products that has me unsure about the cut.

Prior to my appointment I searched the internet trying to find something that I liked that was not TOO short or TOO much maintenance. I found a few pictures of cuts that I really like but my cut is just not as “edgy” as I want it.

If I'm honest ... I have been so busy I haven’t really had the time to “mess around with it”. I’ll give it a week or so but I might just have to go back for some touch up or invest in some new styling products.

La La … La La …

Makenna absolutely loves La La ... aka ~ ELMO. She just can’t get enough of him. Justin gave her a huge stuffed Elmo for Christmas and she attempts to take him everywhere with us. I just couldn’t take lugging around the Big Elmo anymore so I broke down and bought her a new Soft and Cuddly Elmo from Build a Bear that is a little more manageable to take places. We picked him up last Friday! The 2 of them have been inseparable ever since.
